Here’s what you need to know: KIPP New Jersey & Miami seeks a full-time Data Systems Analyst to support students, families, teachers and school operations as we double in size to serve over 15,000 students in the next 5 years. This is an exciting and fast-paced role that will drive how data is utilized across critical systems and processes to support more than 20 schools. In this role, the Data Systems Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of responsibilities across student, staff and operational data systems while learning and applying high-demand skills.
Ability to quickly learn the basics of unfamiliar specialized systems and software platforms
Ability to approach challenges as a systems thinker: a determined problem-solver with ability to create and innovate scalable solutions on the go, sometimes with limited time and resources
Experience using spreadsheets to analyze data and improve data management
Familiarity with core Google Apps, including: Sheets, Slides, Docs, and Drive
Collaborative working style with a strong drive to learn and share knowledge
Highly self-motivated and directed, with excellent attention to detail
Excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex, technical ideas to a non-technical audience
Ability to use quantitative methods for research and problem solving
Nice to have:
Experience working in schools/K-12 education (highly preferred)
Experience with any of our core systems such as PowerSchool, DeansList, Clever, Illuminate, Whetstone or SurveyGizmo
Experience with Tableau (or other data visualization tools) or SQL (or other languages such as Python, BigQuery, etc)
Experience with project management support and software such as Asana or Zendesk
Understanding of the structure of relational databases
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Manage, maintain and optimize our core student and staff information systems to ensure daily operations are running efficiently across PowerSchool, DeansList, Illuminate, Clever, SurveyGizmo, Whetstone, among others
Support and coordinate troubleshooting for school leaders, teachers and staff across data systems, applications and reporting requests
Develop and execute high-quality trainings to drive adoption of new technology, applications or protocols that improve how staff utilize and manage data
Perform ad-hoc analyses and develop reports across student, staff and compliance projects
Write documentation for systems, processes, and data tools
Coordinate project design and implementations between Data, Teaching and Learning, Technology, School Ops and Leadership teams
Lead coordination between regional student information point people and central Data team
Support various staff performance management systems
Learn new software, how to build dashboards using Tableau and query data from a SQL data warehouse
