Director of Data and Assessments
KIPP NJ & KIPP Miami is seeking an experienced instructional leader to design our network’s approach to strategic reteach and academic intervention. The right candidate will drive results through exceptional data analysis skills and the ability to design instructional resources that respond to the needs of our students. This leader will also be responsible for the vision behind our assessment model, and for assessment operations across our growing network of schools in multiple states.

Must Haves
  • At least 2 years experience in an instructional leadership capacity (e.g. School Leader, Assistant Principal, Network Academics Teammate)
  • Outstanding ability to analyze and respond to assessment data
  • Systems-orientation and thinking -- someone who can build from scratch and bring a vision to life
  • Strong coaching skills
  • Exceptional content knowledge in either elementary literacy or math, or both
  • Ability to build relationships, impact & influence, and motivate action
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Develop and implement a systemic approach to reteach and remediation across our schools in New Jersey and Miami
  • Research and implement the most effective ways to diagnose our students’ progress, and reteach from the data these diagnostics generate
  • Serve as our network’s point person on all policies and decisions in the realms of reteach and remediation in response to data
  • Build out a systematic approach to response to data, progress monitor its effectiveness, and collaborate with leaders to drive results through this approach
  • Requires intensive collaboration with T&L teams, school management, data team
Create data-based reteach materials for select grades and subjects
  • Use our academic achievement data to determine which grades and subjects need prioritized support
  • Develop instructional materials and training resources to drive results in these grades and subjects, based on standards data
  • Requires intensive collaboration with T&L teams, school management, and data teams
Analyze and present our longitudinal and short-term data to our organization’s senior leaders, in order to inform course correction and strategic planning
  • Track, analyze, and present our academic achievement results on a weekly and quarterly basis
  • Set and lead the vision for state testing across all of our schools and regions
  • Requires intensive collaboration with T&L teams, school management, and data teams
